Privacy policy

Version 1.0

Working draft. This policy must be reviewed against Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) and registered with the Data Protection Commission before launch.

What we collect

Your name, phone number and PIN (stored only as a salted hash). Artisans also give their trade, a service area, work photos and a payout account, and, once Ghana Card checks are switched on, a Ghana Card number, ID photos and a selfie. If you leave a review we keep your ratings, your comment and any private note you write to us. Field agents give their name, phone number, area and mobile money account so we can pay them.

Why we use it

To run bookings and payments, to check that artisans are who they say they are, to prevent fraud, and to contact you about your jobs.

Who sees it

Artisans see a client's first name and, once paid, the job address. Clients see an artisan's public profile, including reviews with the client's first name. Private notes to JobKonar are seen only by our staff. Artisans' private ratings of clients are used only by us and show to other artisans as an average once there are enough ratings. ID photos are visible only to authorised review staff, every view is logged, and the photos and the stored card number are deleted 30 days after a decision.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data. Contact us through the contact page.
